Newark Police Investigate 4 Auto Burglaries
The auto burglaries happened on two days last week. In at least three of the four cases, a window was smashed in the vehicle.
NEWARK, CA — The Newark Police Department reports that it is investigating four auto burglaries that happened on Wednesday and Thursday of last week. No arrests have been announced.
Wednesday, February 12, 2020
10:59 p.m.: An auto burglary occurred in the 7000 block of Cabernet Avenue. Loss was cash and car keys.
Thursday, February 13, 2020
9:14 p.m.: Officer Swadener investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 35000 block of Newark Boulevard. Between 8:14-9:14 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) shattered the window to the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack.

9:26 p.m.: Officer Hunter investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 35000 block of Haley Street. Between 6:26-9:26 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) shattered the window to the victim’s vehicle. Loss is unknown.
9:54 p.m.: Officer Langenstein investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 400 block of Newpark Mall. Between 7:54-9:54 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) shattered the window to the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack with chargers.
