Newark Police Recover Stolen Vehicle

NEWARK, CA — A police officer recovered a stolen vehicle while responding to a report of a theft at a department store Wednesday in Newark, police said.

At about 7 p.m., an officer was investigating a report of a theft at the Sears department store at the NewPark Mall, located at 6000 Mowry Ave.

During the investigation, the officer located a stolen 2017 Toyota RAV4 in the parking lot. Inside the vehicle, the officer found merchandise that was reported stolen from Sears, police said.

The merchandise was returned to the store and the vehicle was released back to the registered owner. Police have not located the suspects involved in this case.
