Investigators are looking for anyone who may have witnessed a hit and run collision that happened in Fremont last month, police announced Saturday. Police are hoping witness statements can help locate a suspect or suspect vehicle connected to the Aug. 9 collision near Mission Boulevard and Mayhews Road, according to police.

Just after midnight officers received calls regarding a collision between a vehicle and a male pedestrian, police said. After the collision, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene, police said. The victim suffered major but not life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital, according to police.

Police currently do not have any suspect leads or a description of the suspect vehicle. The vehicle may have cosmetic damage to the left front bumper, police said.
