Police Training at Newark Memorial High This Weekend
Officials want residents to be aware that sounds of simulated gunfire may be heard at the school.

Newark Police have issued an advisory to residents who may hear the sounds of simulated gun fire at Newark Memorial High over the weekend. The sounds will be part of a special training class for Newark officers.
Officials released the following alert regarding the training:
Do Not Be Alarmed - Use of Simulated Firearms & Sounds of Discharging Weapons this Weekend.

Police Training at Newark Memorial High School this Weekend.
Newark Police Personnel along with representatives from Shot Spotter will be conducting training on Saturday and Sunday, June 6 & 7, 2015 this weekend at the Newark Memorial High School. This valuable training will help officers in the detection of gunshots, location alerting and analysis. Please be aware there will be sounds of simulated gunfire coming from the school. This is part of the active shooter training our officers receive on an ongoing basis. There is no danger to the public and the training will be taking place only during the daytime. This training is part of continuing efforts to keep all our citizens and officers safe through realistic and practical training.
