Update: Power Outage in Newark to Last Until 11 pm
PG&E has found the cause of the problem and is working to solve the issue.

Update:
PG&E has restored power to 250 customers. However, 150 customers remain without power and full restoration is not expected until 11 p.m.
The outage area is in the immediate vicinity of NewPark Mall.

More than 400 customers are without power this afternoon because of a problem with an underground cable, according to PG&E.

Newark Police are reporting that traffic lights are out, causing backups. As a reminder, treat traffic light outages as a four-way stop.
The outage area is west of I-880, from Cedar Boulevard north of Newpark Mall, reaching southward past Stevenson.
PG&E hopes to have power restored by 5:15 p.m.
