Wheelchair-Bound Man Was Killed While Trying To Roll Away From Gunman In 2024 SF Shooting: DA
Prosecutors announced Friday that they had charged the suspect with murder.
A man accused of fatally shooting a wheelchair-bound man in San Francisco as he tried rolling away from him in 2024 has been charged with murder, prosecutors said.
Daly City resident Darryon Harry Chun, 28, was charged with with murder, with an allegation that he used a firearm in the commission of the murder, resisting an executive officer with an allegation that he was armed with a firearm while resisting, possession of an assault weapon and one count of possession of a pistol without correct identification mark in connection with the Aug. 4, 2024 slaying, according to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors say the victim and one other man approached Chun around 5 a.m. near the intersection of 20th Street and Shotwell.

Surveillance footage shows Chun pulling out a gun and pointing it at the pair, prosecutors said.
The pair is seen trying to get away from Chun. A single shot is then heard off-screen.

Police say Chun fired a single shot into the back of the victim's head, killing him, prosecutors said. The 28-year-old was identified as a suspect and arrested on Tuesday, authorities said.
After searching his home, police found an illegal Kinetic Development Group KDG AR-15 assault rifle and a privately manufactured “ghost gun” Sig Sauer Model P320 pistol, prosecutors said.
