Registered Sex Offender Arrested in Tri-City Area

Police say he was trying to lure a teen into his vehicle.

Police arrested a registered sex offender on Tuesday after officers learned the man was harassing a 16-year-old.

At 4:44 p.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to an area near the corner of Blacow Road and Omar Street for a report of a man driving a black Jeep following a juvenile, according to police. The caller, another juvenile, told police the driver of the Jeep was following and harassing their friend, a 16-year-old girl, police said.

Officers located the driver of the Jeep, identified as 53-year-old Fremont resident Royal Anderson Jr., according to police.

During their investigation, officers learned Anderson was a registered sex offender who was trying to lure the teen girl into his car, police said.

Police arrested Anderson.
