Robber Fires Gun Outside Newark Home
The victim was arriving home when the suspect accosted him.

A man shot at the ground while threatening a robbery victim as he returned home in Newark late Saturday night, police said.
The victim was coming home in the 37100 block of Oak Street at about 11:20 p.m. when a man drove up in a gray SUV, got out of the car and demanded his money, according to police.
When the victim refused, the man pulled out a gun and shot at the ground.

The victim was not injured, police said.
The suspect was described as a 30- to 40-year-old overweight man with long curly hair. He was wearing a gray sweater and pants and was driving a newer-model gray SUV, police said.
