1 Killed In Fiery Crash on I-405
BREAKING: The early morning accident on the San Diego Freeway was in the Irvine area.
IRVINE, CA – At least one person was killed when an SUV crashed into a tree and caught fire Friday on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Irvine, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 3:08 a.m. on the Irvine Center offramp, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The victim, whose age and gender were not immediately reported, died at the scene, the CHP said.

The No. 3, 4 and 5 lanes on the southbound side were closed for the investigation.
