Ali Beheshti, entrepreneur, talks about unplugging at work.
Unplugging at work can help your mental and physical health. Ali Beheshti provides some things you can do to unplug every day.

When people think of unplugging, they often think of taking wilderness retreats or spending a weekend in with a nice book. Unplugging at work can have benefits, though, including lowered stress levels and more focus. If you want to incorporate device-free living into your work life, here are some ways to get started.
Set Aside Time
Unfortunately, unplugging entirely at work is difficult to do for long periods of time. This is why you should always set aside a specific amount of time to unplug. You could choose to do this first thing in the morning, right after lunch, or for the last hour of your day. No matter what, make sure you stay consistent, as having a routine to fall back on will make this process much easier.
Pick Your Tasks
Unplugging at work means you’re limited in what you do. However, there is still plenty that can be accomplished without laptops or smartphones. One-on-one and group meetings can both be held without digital devices, for example. Instead of pulling up documentation on your laptop or smart TV, try printing out copies for everyone. As long as you recycle afterward, there is little downside to using this method.

Notify Everyone
Whether you’re the head of a company or the lowest on the totem pole, you should make sure everyone who regularly works with you is aware that you’re taking time away from your devices. This way, if someone needs something, they can come right to you directly. Also, make sure to set an away message on your email, just in case someone who does not frequently talk to you decides to reach out.
Plan Around Unplugging
When you take all of the previous points into consideration, it may seem as though unplugging requires a ton of preparation. While this is true, it ultimately boils down to one point: plan around unplugging. For example, if you have client calls every hour and a half one day, try to rework your schedule so they’re back-to-back instead. Grouping together all of your tasks that require Internet or phone usage will allow you to not worry about unplugging for a longer period of time. Likewise, try to refrain from unplugging before a big event that requires your online input. If you can work unplugging into your schedule in a non-stressful way, you’ll be good to go.
