ARCO Armed Robbery Suspect Hits Several OC Stores: COPS

Helicopters circled Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa & surrounding OC cities overnight seeking an armed robber who hit multiple shops, cops say.

COSTA MESA, CA — An armed robbery suspect who hit several sites in Orange County overnight may have also held up a Costa Mesa ARCO station, according to Costa Mesa police.

A store inside an Arco gas station at the 3200 block of Harbor Boulevard was robbed about 10:35 p.m. Sunday, said Roxi Fyad of the Costa Mesa Police Department.

The robber, who brandished a handgun at the attendant, took "an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and ran off," Fyad said.

The suspect was described as a black man in his 20s or 30s, about 6 feet to 6-feet-2-inches tall and weighing 190 to 210 pounds. He wore a black baseball cap with white lettering, a black jacket and olive-green cargo pants, she said.

"We are aware of similar incidents that occurred in other jurisdictions Sunday night and are in contact with those agencies," Fyad said.

Huntington Beach police were called about an armed robbery at 10 p.m. Sunday at a Carl's Jr. restaurant at 9022 Adams Ave., said Officer Angela Bennett.

Irvine police responded to an armed robbery just before 7:40 p.m. Sunday at a Chevron gas station at Alton Parkway and Jeffrey Road, said department spokeswoman Kim Mohr. A similar robberywas reported in Mission Viejo, Monday morning.
