Costa Mesa Man Learning To Read, Gaining TikTok Fans Along The Way

COSTA MESA, CA — A man from Costa Mesa is gaining a following by bringing his fans with him on his journey to learning how to read, ABC 7 reported.

Oliver James, 34, started filming himself reading from the front seat of his van about a year and a half ago. While James may be functionally illiterate, he's challenged himself to change that by reading 100 books this year.

James, who is a personal trainer and aspiring motivational speaker, has been sharing his journey on TikTok as @oliverspeaks1, the report said.
