The video then shows Byra bunny hop onto the curb in an effort to get out of the BMW's path.
The video shows the driver immediately speeding up and getting within striking distance of Fetzer.
Byra told KTLA that the person driving the blue BMW wasn't the only aggressive driver on the road that day.
A person behind the wheel of a red-and-black Corvette joined in verbally on the attack, calling the cyclists homophobic slurs as they sped by, Byra said.
"We’re just riding single file," Fetzer told KTLA. "Ben is behind me. I’m in front of him and he comes up to us and starts laying on the horn and his buddy yells out the side window."
Newport Beach police officers took an incident report, but the status of the ongoing investigation was not immediately known.
