Dehesa Robotics: First Place Vex IQ Robotics State Championships

Dehesa Dragon Robotics Advance to World Championship in Kentucky

Dehesa Charter School is a California Public Charter School established in 2001 to support K-12 homeschool students in Orange, San Diego, and Riverside counties. Dehesa offers small classes and independent study options. We assist students in their exploration of the world through personalized attention, customized curriculum, and access to a wide variety of materials and experiential opportunities, including VEX IQ Robotics for elementary and middle school students.

Dehesa Dragon Robotics took first place in the Vex IQ Robotics State Teamwork Tournament Championships at the elementary and middle school competitions. The Dragon Robotics team also won the Build Award for the most reliable, sturdy robot at the middle school competition and the State Programming/Skills Award for the highest scoring individual robot at the elementary competition. These awards advance both teams, the Dragon Adventurers and the Dragon Rangers, to the World Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, from April 29th to May 1, 2018.

At the World Championship, the competition will be even more difficult, as the Dragons will be competing against all the United States and teams from around the world, such as China, South Korea, Russia, Mexico, Canada, and Puerto Rico. This year at Worlds, the Dehesa Dragon Robotics’ goal is to place in the top 10.
Dehesa Charter School is a publicly funded tuition free program. The goal is to continue to provide the best robotics opportunities for Dehesa students. The Dragon Robotics team is asking for sponsorships to help cover the travel expenses, team apparel, banner, and robotics equipment.
