Doctor Charged With 'Sending Sexual Messages' To Cheerleaders: DA
Newport Beach Police are seeking the public's help in finding additional victims of a doctor who sent sexual text messages to cheerleaders.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A doctor who allegedly sent sexually motivated text messages to high school cheerleaders was charged with two counts of child annoyance, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
David Lee Haller, 51, of Newport Beach, was a doctor and volunteer with the University of California Irvine spirit squad cheer-leading team, and also volunteered at athletic events at the Newport Harbor High School from October to December in 2017, Newport Beach Police Department officer Jennifer Manzella said.
In August of 2017, Haller allegedly messaged a cheerleader in a "sexually motivated and inappropriate manner," Manzella said. In October of that same year, he also texted another cheerleader, allegedly, with similar motivations, she added.
