Dumb Voters!
Have asked a lot of 20's and 30's kids who they are going to vote for, and these are there answers. WTHeck!
Lately I have been asking everyone I see who they are going to vote for....especially kids in their 20's and 30's. Yes, they are still kids to me. Amazingly, no one has told me to mind my own business or they prefer not to answer. No! They inevitably tell me that they are conflicted. They don't know what to do. One the one hand they think that Trump is bad because of his language and he could be a little crazy. On the other hand Clinton is crooked. It's when I ask them to explain what they mean by Trump being bad or crazy, the tell me incidences that have been widely publicized "John McCain, knowing more than the generals etc. When I ask about Clinton being corrupt ALL of them tell me that it's the emails, and when I ask which emails and what's in them they don't know.
So, what does that tell you? Even from my very tiny random sampling you get the picture...at least I think so. We have a nation of people who don't understand that you can Google more than the best sporting goods store or your favorite political site that you agree with totally and just gives you the bumper sticker talking points. You can actually get real information that you can verify!
Why this phenomenon? Easy peasy. We have not taught civics in school for a long time...not really. Nor do we value being a part of anything political I hear people say all the time "Yeah, I'm not political" Yes! They are very proud of not caring about the country. I think it's almost treasonous to be proud of the fact that you are proud of not caring ....that you think it's cool. It's unfortunately become a thing ...this "not being political". It's probably the thing that will make a very young America the next Fall of Rome.

So what shall we do? Teach it! Teach it, not just in school but at home online...We should be teaching kids in kindergarten about where they live and one simple fact...who is the President of the United States. Then have them write a dictated letter to the Prez. asking him about something. Something like is it fun? Do you have someone to play with? You know the important stuff.
Later, after year after year having "civics' classes" and being participatory in "civic affairs"...not only knowing how governments function, but also having actually participated. At the very least signed petitions, started petitions, written letters SPOKEN OUT, they will know what their job is and we will have an intelligent functional citizenry. One that will be able to ferret out what might be the truth and reality.
