OPERA: Old Maid & the Thief with the UCI Symphony

The Old Maid and the Thief, a comedy is English, was originally written for radio broadcast in 1939.  Presented by the Claire Trevor School of the Arts Music Department and accompanied by the UCI Symphony Orchestra, Menotti's comic opera pokes fun at small-town gossip and the consequences of believing stereotypes.  The musical score is rich with soaring arias and witty ensembles.

Opera lovers will enjoy this presentation!  Those new to the Opera will enjoy this comedy in English!
