Financial and Business Leaders Share Career Insights with Newport Beach Women

Encouraging Newport Beach women to seize opportunities to create their own success

Newport Beach– Pacific Advisors, one of Newport Beach’s largest financial services firms, hosted Opportunity is Everywhere: Seize Them to Create Your Own Success, on Thursday, October 20. The networking event celebrated and highlighted the successes of strong business women in the community and encouraged local women to seize opportunities that are around them each and every day to advance their careers—and their lives—on their own terms. More than 25 women attended the event which was hosted at The Courtyard event space.

Pacific Advisors created the event to give women the chance to build connections and find new career opportunities. This year, they partnered with WHW, a non-profit organization providing unemployed and underemployed women with the skills and resources necessary to build a challenging and satisfying career. This event raised over $3,500 for WHW.

“Many women don’t consider how their current skill set can help them excel in another field or don’t know how to seek out a job where those skills are transferable. This event was an opportunity to help women make that distinction, live their lives with significance and be impactful in their family, career and community,” said Misty Weltzien, Director of Career Development and Associate General Agent at Pacific Advisors. “We created this event to share insights, strategies and resources for women to take advantage of the opportunities that are around them every day to advance their careers and their lives on their own terms.”

“We wanted women to walk away from this event knowing they can take control of their life by taking advantage of opportunities as they present themselves, even when it feels out of their comfort zone, and build a career that is meaningful and impactful,” said Weltzien. “The field of financial services offers abundant career opportunities for women, whether entering the workforce for the first time, re-entering after children, or looking at a career change, we’re passionate about sharing with women that a career in financial services and sales is not only achievable, it can allow women the flexibility to raise children, have a lucrative career, and continue to be involved in their community.”
