Flying over the 4th of July Weekend? Helpful Travel Tips to Ensure you Arrive on Time
With millions of travelers taking to the sky this holiday weekend, JWA offers these ideas for arriving on time, stress free when you fly.

Irvine, CA--Orange County's John Wayne Airport (JWA) anticipates a surge in travelers over the first week of July according to reports. Here are some tips for how to get around, and avoid complications, at the Orange County airport. Expect heavy crowds, lines and plan accordingly from July 1 through July 5.
"Independence Day is a time to celebrate our country's independence and many travelers take to the skies during this holiday weekend," said Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Lisa Bartlett. "Our goal is to ensure you have a safe, secure and enjoyable holiday travel experience."
TIPS ON SAFE, EASY TRAVEL THROUGH JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT:

- Passengers are reminded that fireworks are prohibited in or around the Airport.
- Demand for parking over the holiday weekend is expected to be high--consider all parking options, as well as Valet Parking or the Main Street Parking Lot with free shuttle. Call 949-252-5200 for parking availability.
- Arrive early. 90-minutes to 2 hours in advance for domestic flights, and 3 hours for international flights is typically sufficient to check luggage, go through security. TSA Pre✓™ members can expedite the screening process in Terminals A, B and C.
- Passengers are allowed one small carry-on bag plus one personal item as long as the carry-on bag fits airline dimensions. Check with individual airlines for specifics. - Drivers picking up passengers at the Airport are encouraged to utilize the Cell Phone Waiting Lot or the 2-hour parking spaces located on the lower level of Parking Structures A1, B2 and C.
- Travelers are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings and report questionable objects or activities, "If You See Something, Say Something™." To report a suspicious object or activity, dial 0 for the operator, dial 2-5000 from a white courtesy phone or notify an Airport employee or a uniformed officer.

- Review Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) Traveler Information for a list of prohibited items and the 3-1-1 rule for liquids in carry-ons.
- There are specific rules and exceptions for passengers traveling with infant care items. Please visit TSA tips for traveling with children for more information.
- International travelers should check the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)website to ensure they have appropriate documentation for traveling to and from the United States. Note: Passengers who are members of the Global Entry Trusted Traveler Program can expedite their Customs clearance into the U.S. at John Wayne Airport. Those passengers traveling to and from Vancouver, Canada, will clear Customs in Canada before entering the United States.
