Free Wellness Screenings at the Treasure Your Health: Wellness Expo Hosted by the American Heart Association and Union Bank

The American Heart Association (AHA) and Union Bank are teaming up to host the Treasure Your Health: Wellness Expo at Union Bank’s Westminster Branch (15377 Brookhurst Street, Westminster, CA. 92683) on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Participants will receive complimentary blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and body mass index screenings and the opportunity to consult one-on-one with a health expert. The event will also provide information on heart disease prevention, warning signs and risk factors. In addition, Union Bank representatives will be available to offer tips on financial planning, including budgeting and saving.

The goal of the Wellness Expo is to bring a message of the importance of maintaining good heart health and its inherent connection to financial wellness. The overall theme “Treasure Your Health” is supported by the American Heart Association’s “Life’s Simple 7,” which recommends seven simple steps to add years to your life – don’t smoke, get active, eat better, maintain a healthy weight, manage blood pressure, control cholesterol and reduce blood sugar.

The Health and Wellness Expo is part of the American Heart Association’s My Heart. My Life. campaign designed to promote healthy behaviors and achieve the AHA’s 2020 goal of improving the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent.
