High Surf, Strong Rip Currents At Newport Beach This Week. High Tide Forecast.
Newport Beach is under a high surf advisory until 9 p.m. Wednesday. Great for surfers, not inexperienced swimmers, here's what to watch for.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA —South Orange County woke Monday to a high surf advisory along the coast, officials say. With big waves arriving at 9 a.m. Monday and lasting through 9 p.m. Wednesday, the advisory calls for waves up to 8 feet along Orange County beaches.
In Newport Beach and Corona Del Mar, look for surf of 4 to 7 feet with sets up to 8 feet, a National Weather Service spokesperson says.
"High surf and strong rip currents will create dangerous swimming conditions," they reported. "Large waves may sweep people off of rocks and jetties."

Inexperienced swimmers should stay out of the water due to the dangerous surf conditions and strong rip currents.
Monday's low tide would be at 7:55 a.m. at 2.76 feet. High tide was expected at 2:51 p.m. at 5.25 feet. Sunrise Monday was at 6:34 a.m. and sunset at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, high tide would be at 6:18 a.m. at 3.44 feet. Low tide was expected at 9:47 a.m. at 3.08 feet, and a second high tide at 4:20 p.m. at 5.28 feet. Sunrise Tuesday was at 6:34 a.m. and sunset at 6:59 p.m.
On Wednesday, high tide would come at 7:20 a.m. at 3.84 feet. Low tide was expected at 11:36 a.m. at 2.95 feet. A second high tide would be at 5:40 p.m. at 5.48 feet. Sunrise Wednesday would be at 6:35 a.m. and sunset at 6:57 p.m.
