Vegas Shooting: Two Newport Beach Employees Injured In Massive Attack
Newport Beach deputy and city worker injured in Las Vegas shooting.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Las Vegas is a favorite recreational spot for many southern Californians. The popular Route 91 Harvest Festival country concert at Mandalay Bay was filled with Southlanders, Sunday when a shooter opened fire on the crowd.
At least two Newport Beach city employees were listed among the injured from the mass shooting. According to Newport Beach Police Department, the two suffered non-fatal injuries and are both requesting privacy and anonymity as of midday Monday.
"I am devastated for our two people from our city, but they are injured and going to be okay," Newport Beach Police Department information officer Jennifer Manzella. "An off duty officer and a city employee."

The city is making sure that they have everything they need. Their injuries are not life threatening, according to Manzella.
"It's just like preparing for an earthquake," Manzella said. "It's scary, but we all know what to do when the ground starts shaking. The same can be said with an active shooter situation, when we are taught to run, hide and fight."
