Man Charged With Biting OC Deputy On Face Pleads Guilty Wednesday
The south Orange County man also pleaded guilty to attacking a man and woman in their San Juan Capistrano backyard.
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — A south Orange County man pleaded guilty Wednesday to attacking a man and woman in their backyard and biting the chin of an Orange County Sheriff's deputy who was dispatched to the scene.
31-year-old Cole Richard Altuzarra, of San Juan Capistrano, pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon on a peace officer and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, all felonies, court records show.
Altuzarra also admitted sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury, court records said.

Other charges such as attempted murder, resisting arrest and aggravated mayhem with sentencing enhancements for attempted premeditated sentencing enhancement were dismissed as a part of the plea deal.
He is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 16 in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.

Orange County sheriff's deputies were called to a home in the 26000 block of Via Arboleda in San Juan Capistrano at around 6:40 p.m. Oct. 16, 2020.
The victims were in their '60s, according to authorities.
Altuzarra bit the ear of one of the victims and also bit the deputy, authorities said. Deputies used a stun gun to help subdue him and three deputies suffered minor injuries during the fight.
