A 25-year-old man was in critical condition tonight after he was struck by a vehicle in Newport Beach, authorities said.The crash was reported at 6:17 p.m. on eastbound Pacific Coast Highway east of Prospect Street, Newport Beach police Sgt. Josh Comte said.The victim was taken to Anaheim Global Medical Center in critical condition, Comte said.The vehicle's driver remained on the scene, he said.Eastbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway were closed for the on-scene investigation, Comte said. They were reopened at about 9:30 p.m.City News Service
