Monica Hatley-Carr Named Featured Presenter at County Children's Book Festival

Children's author Monica Hatley-Carr has been named a featured illustrator and presenter at the Orange County Children's Book Festival.

Children’s author Monica Hatley-Carr has been named a featured illustrator and presenter at the Orange County Children’s Book Festival in Costa Mesa, CA this October. Her debut children’s book, I Love the Color Pink, the Adventures of Laci Macasey, tells the story of a little girl who loves the color pink so much that she wishes that everything in the entire world would turn pink.

Originally a native of Arkansas, Monica Hatley-Carr eventually moved to Las Vegas with her husband where she became an elementary school substitute teacher. Being around students all day helped her find true happiness, which sparked the idea of writing her first children’s book. The main character, Laci, is based on her niece who loved the color pink dearly as a little girl.

“I am so looking forward to introducing Laci to children and parents alike at the Orange County Children’s Book Festival,” said Hatley-Carr. “This is only one of many adventures Laci will go on, and I’m looking forward to sharing her exciting journey with people of all ages.”
