SAN DIEGO, CA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect below-average temperatures through the Fourth of July holiday weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

"High temperatures as much as 15 to 10 degrees below average for the mountains and Inland Empire on Sunday will gradually warm for the next week, but remain below average through the July 4th holiday weekend," NWS San Diego forecasters wrote Sunday.

"The marine layer will deepen tonight with patchy drizzle possible late tonight. The marine will then gradually decrease in depth, but with night and morning coastal low clouds still extending into the western valleys late each night for next weekend."

In other news, a man was killed and six others were shot at a street takeover; a motorist was arrested after a high-speed pursuit and crash; two people were injured in a shooting during a mass nude bike ride event; and a search continued over the weekend for a missing Marine who disappeared days ago off the coast of Southern California.
