More Than a Concert: How High Hopes Helps Brain Injury Survivors Rebuild Their Lives

For more than 50 years, High Hopes Head Injury Program has been providing something many brain injury survivors fear they may never find again: hope.

Based in Tustin, High Hopes has become a destination for individuals and families seeking specialized support, rehabilitation, and community after life-altering brain injuries. While many participants come from Southern California, others travel from across the United States and around the world to take part in programs designed to help them regain confidence, independence and purpose.

On Sunday, July 12, the nonprofit's mission will take center stage during the annual Eric Marienthal & Friends Concert benefiting High Hopes Brain Injury Program, one of the organization's most important fundraisers of the year.

The event will feature an all-star lineup, including 2x Grammy-winning saxophonist Eric Marienthal, David Benoit, the iconic Peanuts composer and Grammy-nominated pianist, and Niki Haris, internationally known for her years as Madonna's featured backup vocalist.

Founded in 1975, High Hopes serves individuals living with acquired brain injuries resulting from accidents, strokes, illnesses, military service, and other traumatic events. The organization offers cognitive rehabilitation, vocational support, social programs, and life-skills training that help participants navigate the challenges that often accompany brain injury recovery.

Many survivors face obstacles that are not immediately visible, including memory loss, communication difficulties, emotional challenges, and barriers to employment and independent living. Through its comprehensive programs, High Hopes provides a pathway forward for participants and their families.

Funds raised through the annual concert help support the organization's ongoing programs and services, ensuring participants continue to receive the resources they need throughout their recovery journey.

The VIP Reception begins at 3:45 p.m. and offers guests an exclusive opportunity to mingle with the performers and event hosts while enjoying dinner by Tulsa Rib Company, a complimentary hosted bar, live entertainment from the Ron Kobayashi Trio, and a delicious dessert bar. VIP tickets are $175.

General Admission begins at 5 p.m. and includes concert admission and a dessert bar. General Admission tickets are $75.

The evening will be emceed by SiriusXM personality Talaya Trigueros and Mark Desmond, and will also feature silent and live auctions showcasing luxury items, unique packages, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

For many attendees, however, the true highlight of the evening is seeing firsthand the impact High Hopes has on the lives of those it serves.
