NEWPORT BEACH, CA —The identity of a Newport Beach college student whose body was recovered from Lake Travis this week after having gone missing 11 days before was confirmed this week.

He was a graduate of Corona Del Mar, and a student at Texas Christian University at the time of his death. A charitable venture fundraiser has been established in his memory.

On Oct. 14, frantic rescue attempts were undertaken by various emergency agencies in the aftermath of the boater's fall into the water before the effort shifted to one of recovery rather than rescue.

Elliott's body was recovered in part by assistance from southern California's Deep Ocean Exploration and Research Marine and Orca Maritime, both California research groups.
