We asked Patch readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:

  • "The cross walks should flash some other color then yellow. Like red or something. If you're not from here you have no clue it means someone is walking across. I don't know the solution but the cross walks are all dangerous from what I've noticed."
  • "The root cause of all public safety issues are "conservative" old rich white people undermining democracy. It is especially prevalent in LA and Orange counties."
  • "Being a pedestrian or bike rider on the peninsula, you are taking huge chances just to cross the streets AT the crosswalks! I fear for my child riding her bike to school. Blinking lights at crosswalks would be a huge improvement!"
  • "Stop sign runners."
  • "Morons on bicycles including kids getting out of school."
  • "Parking tickets, and yacht brokers."
  • "Building more and more facilities (Marina Park, new hotel by West Marine) for more and more people and there is no room for them. It's a peninsula! Inviting people for whom we have no room!"
  • " Its always been crosswalks and not adequate bike paths for people. Riding the boardwalk is hair raising."
