Newport Harbor Elks Help Foster Care Auxiliary Warehouse
Last Volunteer Day at Foster Care Auxiliary Distribution Warehouse

Volunteers from Newport Harbor Elks Lodge have been volunteering for close to 4 months, every other Friday, stocking shelves at the Foster Care Auxiliary Distribution Warehouse. In addition, the lodge donated $2,000 from a Grant awarded to the lodge by the Elks National Foundation. Those funds paid for delivery fees for 20 pallets, at $100 per pallet, containing donated products for the auxiliary’s warehouse. The pallets have thousands of dollars of toys, household good, food, diapers, bedding… pretty much anything that a foster family might find useful.
The auxiliary is a small non-profit, with no federal, state or government assistance. The auxiliary serves over 100 families each month. Their mission is to enhance the lives of all Orange County Foster children, to help support and retain Orange County licensed foster families, and those who are providing a permanent home for a minor from the Orange County foster care system. They operate the warehouse where products are received. This thrift store pays most of the auxiliary’s bills, and are inventive in how they can best serve their foster family community.
