OCC’s Classical Guitar Ensemble will hold an end-of-the-year concert on Sunday, May 22 at 3 p.m. in the College’s Robert B. Moore Theatre. The concert is being held to spread awareness of flamenco music, specifically as it relates to the guitar.
OCC’s guitar ensemble will be led by conductor Dr. Adam Pettit, with the first half of the program showcasing soloists, small ensembles and a guitar orchestra comprised of students, and the second half featuring world-renowned flamenco guitarist Adam del Monte in a solo concert.
“Maestro del Monte is a highly accomplished classical and jazz guitarist, lending to the unique styling of his artistic voice,” said Dr. Pettit. “He is a professor at the University of California, where students from around the world travel to learn more about his style of playing. It’s a special privilege to host an artist of this stature at Orange Coast College.”
