OCC Hosting Townhall Re: New Professional Mariner Training Center
Construction project includes 10,000 sq. ft training and classroom facility
Orange Coast College and the Coast Community College District are planning a town hall meeting on April 4 at 6 p.m. at the College’s School of Sailing and Seamanship to provide a construction update and gather feedback for the OCC Professional Mariner Training Center.
The Professional Mariner Training Center consists of the new construction of a 10,000-square-foot training and classroom facility located in Newport Beach that will help support the existing OCC School of Sailing and Seamanship. The project will add new parking spaces and a “Sky Way” bridge across Pacific Coast Highway that connects the facility to the Sailing Center across the street.
OCC will update local community members on the status of the project at the town hall meeting, with speakers from the College’s administration, and division faculty and students. The project architect and construction management team also will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. The presentation will include a project overview, construction schedule and traffic control plans.
