OCC Symphony & Chamber Singers Unite To Perform Works By Beethoven, Mozart

The Orange Coast College Symphony and OCC Chamber Singers will come together on Saturday, May 7 in the College's Robert B. Moore Theatre

The Orange Coast College Symphony and OCC Chamber Singers will come together on Saturday, May 7 in the College’s Robert B. Moore Theatre to perform works by two of the best-loved composers of all time.

OCC music faculty member Emily Hung will join the orchestra for Beethoven’s passionate Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, while the OCC Chamber Singers will perform Mozart’s storied and stunning Requiem in D minor. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m.

“Music doesn’t get much better than Mozart’s Requiem and Beethoven’s piano concertos, and we’re beyond thrilled to present these two all-time greats with our wonderful students and one of our exceptional faculty members,” says OCC Director of Choral and Vocal Activities Eliza Rubenstein. “Our Chamber Singers have done a magnificent job of preparing this difficult and extraordinary piece, and we can’t wait to perform it for the OCC community.”

“These works are foundational to our human culture, and to witness them played live is to live more richly into our human experience,” echoes OCC Symphony Conductor Christopher Gravis. “Also, where else can you hear world class music for only 10 or 15 bucks?”

Tickets run $10 for students and $15 for the general public, and can be purchased at www.occtickets.com or at the door.
