OCC Theatre to Perform Children's Play 'Androcles and the Lion'

Orange Coast College will stage a summer production of “Androcles and the Lion” by Aurand Harris. The show will open on July 18 and run through July 25 in OCC’s Drama Lab Theatre.

Show times include a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, and nighttime showings at 7 p.m. on July 18 and Saturday, July 25. There also will be 11 a.m. showings on Thursday, July 23 and Friday, July 24.

One of the most popular children’s plays every written, “Androcles and the Lion” brims with silliness and joy, and features plenty of audience interaction. The show is geared toward children ages 5-12.

“This is going to be a really fun show that everyone, children and adults alike, will enjoy,” said director and OCC theatre arts instructor Tom Bruno.

Tickets will be available at the door and run $9 for adults and $7 for children, students and seniors. OCC’s Drama Lab Theatre is located off Fairview Road and Merrimac Way, directly behind the College’s Robert B. Moore Theatre. Parking is free on weekends, and metered parking is available during the week.
