Man, 27, Charged With Sex Attacks On 3 Women In Newport Beach (patch.com) — Newport Beach residents are learning more about charges against a 27-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting three women in the city in July. Prosecutors say the suspect faces a felony false imprisonment count plus several misdemeanor sex charges, with his next arraignment set for Sept. 9 at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach. Authorities have released few additional details as the case proceeds.
   

2. 4 Injured In 3-Vehicle Crash Near Major Intersection In Newport Beach: Police (patch.com) — Drivers in Newport Beach faced major disruption after a three-vehicle crash on southbound MacArthur Boulevard near Ford Road sent four people to local hospitals. Fire crews declared a Level 1 multi-casualty incident, and police closed southbound lanes while investigating the cause and clearing the scene, urging motorists to use alternate routes.
   

3. Erosion Exposes Pipes, Concrete At Famed OC Surf Spot: Report (patch.com) — Erosion at Newport Beach's iconic Wedge surf break is exposing pipes, concrete, rocks and even barbed wire, raising safety concerns for beachgoers and surfers. First patient treated in FDA IDE study of Aqua Medical's PIMA device (medicaldevice-network.com) — Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach has treated the West Coast's first patient in a national trial testing Aqua Medical's new PIMA procedure for hard-to-control type 2 diabetes. The minimally invasive endoscopic treatment aims to improve metabolic control and is still investigational, with patient recruitment continuing at Hoag and other U.S. centers.
