• El Niño conditions bringing unusual sea creatures to warming waters off SoCal coast (abc7.com) — Warm El Niño conditions are drawing rare tropical sea creatures into Southern California waters, including off Newport Beach, where endangered devil rays have been spotted. Local fishermen and divers describe close encounters with these rays and even a juvenile whale shark, as ocean temperatures near 80 degrees and experts anticipate more unusual marine visitors in the weeks ahead.
