Police Chase Suspected Stolen Vehicle Driver Through Orange County

Police are chasing a suspected stolen vehicle driver on the freeway in the Orange County area Thursday morning.

COSTA MESA, CA — Police are pursuing a suspected stolen vehicle driver in the Orange County area Thursday morning, KTLA reported.

The chase was reported on the southbound 405 freeway in Costa Mesa at 9:40 a.m., according to aerial video from Sky5. According to KTLA, the vehicle is a stolen van that belongs to Fit For Life 1 in South Gate, and was stolen from a repair shop in Los Angeles.

The driver led officers through Costa Mesa and into Irvine before continuing to speed through the 5 Freeway.

By 9:55 a.m., KTLA reported the driver was in the Mission Viejo area.

The chase began in LAPD jurisdiction, and has apparently been turned over to the California Highway Patrol.
