COSTA MESA, CA — Police are pursuing a suspected stolen vehicle driver in the Orange County area Thursday morning, KTLA reported. The chase was reported on the southbound <a href="https://ktla.com/news/local-news/authorities-chase-suspected-stolen-vehicle-driver-in-orange-county-area/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">405 freeway in Costa Mesa at 9:40 a.m.</a>, according to aerial video from Sky5. According to KTLA, the vehicle is a stolen van that belongs to Fit For Life 1 in South Gate, and was stolen from a repair shop in Los Angeles. The driver led officers through Costa Mesa and into Irvine before continuing to speed through the 5 Freeway. By 9:55 a.m., KTLA reported the driver was in the Mission Viejo area. The chase began in LAPD jurisdiction, and has apparently been turned over to the California Highway Patrol. It was not immediately clear when the pursuit began.
