Rollover Crash Critically Injures 3 In Newport Beach

The crash was reported Friday night at around 8:20 p.m. on the 73 Freeway in Newport Beach.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A two-vehicle rollover crash critically injured three people on an Orange County toll road in Newport Beach Friday.

The crash was reported at around 8:20 p.m., when Newport Beach firefighters responded to reports of a two-vehicle rollover crash on the southbound 73 Toll Road at Bonita Canyon.

Upon arrival, firefighters found two extensively damaged vehicles with three people trapped inside. The incident was immediately upgraded to a Technical Heavy Rescue and a Level 1 Mass Casualty Incident, firefighters said.

All three people were successfully extricated by fire crews and taken to local hospitals in critical condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
