Sailors' Running Back Breaks Collar Bone

Tala Teaupa, projected to be Newport Harbor's starter after the transfer of Buzzy Yokoyama to Mission Viejo, will likely be lost for six to eight weeks.

Newport Harbor running back Tala Teaupa (5-11, 185) suffered a broken collar bone during practice Thursday and will be out six to eight weeks, Sailors coach Jeff Brinkley told the Orange County Register Friday.

Teaupa, a junior, was expected to be the Sailors' starteer in the backfield after Buzzy Yokoyama's transfer to Mission Viejo during the summer. According to the Register story, options now include Ethan Cochran (6-1, 220), AJ Swies (5-9, 180) and Titus Hasson (6-1, 195).
