Updated: A two-mile section of ocean in Newport Beach was closed for more than five hours today following the sighting of an 8-foot hammerhead shark near the pier.The closure was lifted around 4:30 p.m. when authorities said there had not been any more sightings in the area. A shark advisory warning beach-goers of the sighting will remain in effect until at least Tuesday morning, according to Jennifer Manzella of the Newport Beach Police Department.The shark was spotted about 11 a.m., and was not acting in an aggressive manner, but the closure was ordered as a precaution, Manzella said.
