Tesla Slams Into Nail Salon, Injures Employee In Newport Beach
A woman lost control of her Tesla slammed into a nail salon, injuring an employee on her break in Newport Beach.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A woman lost control of her Tesla and slammed into a nail salon and beauty supply store Monday, Newport Beach Police said. A nail salon employee was injured during the dramatic crash that occurred just before 9:45 a.m. on the 3600 block of Jamboree Road, according to Newport Beach Police Department Officer Jennifer Manzella.
The driver escaped injury, but a woman outside the building sustained cuts and scrapes and was taken to an area hospital as a precaution, according to Manzella.
The unidentified woman driving the Tesla was parking when she lost control of the car, which came to rest inside one of the businesses, Manzella said.

The car was not on auto-pilot at the time and it appears the cause of the crash was "operator error," according to investigation.
The manager of the Bellavie Nail Lounge told ABC7 that one of the salon's employees was on a break, sitting outside, when the Tesla struck a pillar, then crashed into the building.
