Tomb Robbers of Ancient Thebes

You can't take it with you but the Pharaohs of ancient Thebes tried. They just didn't count on the wily Theban tomb robbers.

Heists of gold, precious stones and almost anything of value that wasn’t nailed down (and some things that were) came out of the richest tombs in Egypt’s ancient history. On March 21st, at 1 PM,  Dr. Nigel Strudwick, Professor of Art History at the University of Memphis, will share his insights in a free presentation on how the tombs were found, plundered and sometimes re-hidden. Join the Archaeological Research Center of Cairo - Orange County Branch at the Bowers Museum, 2002 Main Street in Santa Ana, in the Norma Kershaw Auditorium for a glimpse into the past of these ingenious tomb robbers.
