Too Soon for Christmas? Tree Coming to Fashion Island Nov. 1st

Halloween hasn't even happened yet, but Christmas is coming to Newport Beach's Fashion Island Mall.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Never too soon to celebrate in the retail world, it will begin to look a lot like Christmas at Fashion Island in Newport Beach next week, when a beautiful white fir arrives early in November.

The 90–foot tree will make its holiday home in the Neiman Marcus-Bloomingdale’s Courtyard where it will be hoisted into place with a large crane.

The tree will be removed from a designated timber area in Mount Shasta. After the tree is positioned and secured, it will be filled with branches that had to be removed to safely transport the tree to Southern California.

Over the next two weeks, the tree will be decorated with more than 20,000 lights and red, silver and gold ornaments. After the holidays, the tree will be recycled as it is every year.

The tree will be decorated over the next two weeks, in time for its debut at the Tree Lighting Celebration on Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. both evenings.
