Video: Woman and Dog Rescued from Back Bay Cliffside
A woman risked her life to save her dog that had slipped down the side of the cliff to a ledge, more then 50 feet up a steep ravine.

A woman tried to help a dog that was stranded on a cliff in Newport Beach this afternoon and firefighters ended up having to rescue both.
The rescue, aired live during afternoon news broadcasts, took place about 4:30 p.m. in the area of Back Bay Drive and San Joaquin Hills Road.

The woman had climbed down to where the dog was stuck and both ended up stranded on a steep ledge more than 50 feet up until a firefighter rappelled down to their location, fitted the woman with a harness and all three were hauled to safety.
