Wheelchair Bound Man, Caregiver Struck On Costa Mesa Crosswalk
A truck driver ran into two pedestrians in an Orange County crosswalk. The wheelchair was destroyed, and one in critical condition.

COSTA MESA, CA — A caregiver, pushing a senior citizen in wheelchair, was severely injured on Wednesday, Costa Mesa Police said.
Witnesses were being sought for the crash that occurred when a dump truck struck the victims on Anaheim Avenue between 19th Street and Plumer Street shortly before 4 p.m., Costa Mesa Police spokeswoman Roxi Fyad said.
The truck's driver remained on scene and cooperated with police, Fyad said, and the names of the 53-year-old Anaheim resident and a 72-year-old Costa Mesa man were not released.

The man, who relies on his electric wheelchair sustained minor injuries, but his wheelchair is now inoperable, she said.
His caretaker, who recently took the job, was taken to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, where she was listed in critical condition, Fyad said.
