
On Tuesday, May 1, Newport Harbor Elks Lodge hosted its annual Youth Night. There were over 150 children and adults in attendance where over $50,000 was awarded to outstanding youth and other charitable organizations for their good works. In addition to the awards, a spaghetti buffet was served to awardees and their families. The buffet added to the enjoyment and excitement of the evening and is a family favorite.
The awards ceremony began with Newport-Mesa Girl Scouts presentation of the Colors, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation by the Lodge Chaplain Tony Messina. Past Lodge Exalted Ruler Sharron Dearborn emceed the event.

Prior to the awards, attendees were treated to a live music presentation by the 5th and 6th Grade California Elementary Band led by instructor Nick St. Royal… it was a crowd pleaser! Special recognition was given to Elko, deceased Newport Beach Police Dog who did so much for the community.
