2 Trapped, 3 Women Hospitalized In San Fernando Valley Pileup

Firefighters worked to free two people trapped in the four-vehicle crash.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — Two people were trapped in the wreckage of a pileup that injured four people in Northridge Monday morning.

The four-vehicle crash happened just before 8 a.m. in the 19700 block of W. Parthenia Street at the intersection with Corbin Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters were able to free two people who were trapped in one of the vehicles, said Margaret Stewart, LAFD spokeswoman.

Three women women ages 20, 24 and 50, were rushed to nearby hospitals, according to Stewart. A 33-year-old man declined to be transported to a hospital, Stewart said.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
