77-Year-Old Woman Struck, Killed by Car ID'd as North Hollywood Resident
The driver may have been blinded by the setting sun, officials say.

A 77-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle whose driver may have been blinded by the setting sun in North Hollywood, coroners said today.
The woman was later identified as Ki Mun, a North Hollywood resident, said Coroner’s Lt. David Smith
The crash was at the intersection of Kittridge Street and Irvine Avenue at 6:15 p.m. Friday, a Los Angeles Police Department captain told a videographer at the scene.

The victim died at the scene, a coroner’s officer said.
A sergeant with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division said the driver remained at the scene, but had not been arrested.

The driver, who was not identified, told officers of driving westbound on Kittridge and being blinded the setting sun at the time of the accident, the sergeant said.
It was not known whether the victim was in a crosswalk when she was struck, the sergeant said.
