The American Indian Arts Marketplace is a weekend celebration of Native American arts and culture at the Autry. The largest Native American arts fair in Southern California, this high-end marketplace features 200 Native American artists who represent more than 40 tribes. The weekend will also include performances, children’s activities, informative talks and demonstrations, and the annual short play festival from Native Voices, the Autry’s resident theatre company.
Inside the museum, see Floral Journey: Native North American Beadwork, the first exhibition to explore how beaded floral designs became a remarkable art form as well as a means of economic and cultural survival for Native peoples across North America.

“The Marketplace attracts people who are interested in Native art beyond the museum collections. They’re interested in your work but they’re also interested in you, and in supporting a sense of community. That mindset is at the core of Native art shows like the Autry’s,” said Mateo Romero, a Marketplace artist whose mixed-media piece War Music II is part of the Autry’s permanent collection and featured in Art of the West.
The American Indian Arts Marketplace offers something for everyone!

Awards
A juried competition will take place, with awards in 13 categories including the coveted Jackie Autry Purchase Award, which honors a single artwork designated each year for purchase by the Autry for inclusion in its permanent collections.
Food
The acclaimed Auntie’s Fry Bread will be cooking up their must-try, light and fluffy Native American fry bread. The Autry’s recently renovated Crossroads West Cafe will also offer a full menu inside, as well as coffee and pastries for sale in the plaza.
