Baby's Belly Food Aims to Offer Healthy Start for Infants
Organic baby food can be delivered to homes within 20 miles of mom's Burbank-based business.
Baby's Belly Food is the brainchild of mother and actress Nicole Tubiola, who arrived at the idea of creating an organic baby food delivery service after the birth of her 3-year-old son.
"I realized that there was kind of a hole in the market for moms or dads who are working who didn't have time to make their own food. And I wanted to fill that hole because I think healthy eating habits start at the beginning," said Tubiola.
The company is based in Burbank and delivers to any location within 20 miles of the store, stretching all the way south to Marina del Rey.
Clients can order a week's worth of food by midnight Friday and Baby's Belly Food will deliver it before 6:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. The food is meant to stay fresh for up to three days, hence the split deliveries.
On average, Tubiola produces about 1,000 jars of food per month, she said.
"We hope to expand within the next year into a bigger facility with a lot more to offer," Tubiola said.
Baby's Belly Food offers four categories of food: Belly Begins ($2.95 per jar) for babies 6 months and older; Belly Blends ($3.50 per jar) for babies 8 months and older; Belly Bites ($3.95) for babies 10 months and older; and Belly Big Kids, trays of meals for children age 1 and older, for $4.95.
